Different sectors of health workers, education, and the student movement will unite in a day of struggle and mobilization against the defunding of health and public education by the government of Javier Milei. The "White March" is scheduled for Saturday, October 22, starting at 14:00 from the National Congress to Plaza de Mayo, where a White Tent will be set up from 16:00.
Workers from the Garrahan Pediatric Hospital will participate in the mobilization, as well as self-organized workers, the Internal Board of ATE Garrahan, and the Association of Professionals and Technicians of Garrahan Hospital (APyT). These workers are demanding a 100% salary increase against an inflation rate of 240% in the last year, among other demands related to their working conditions.
Additionally, workers from Laura Bonaparte Hospital will join the "White March," who are on alert due to notifications of cuts and layoffs of staff. Workers from other hospitals, such as Posadas Hospital, where recent layoffs have occurred, will also join.
Resident workers contracted by the Ministry of Health of the Nation will also be present at the mobilization, denouncing the loss of purchasing power of more than 40% and the attacks on the public health system. The day of struggle will also include the participation of sectors of education workers and the student movement in defense of public health and education.
