Disability Organizations Demand Funding in Argentina

Buenos Aires, April 14 (NA) — A group of organizations that are members of the Permanent Forum for the Promotion and Defense of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities visited the Ministry of Economy to deliver a note to its head, Luis Caputo. The organizations approached the building at Hipólito Irigoyen 250 and, through this presentation, requested the immediate budgetary application and transfer of the corresponding funds to the Federal Incluir Health Program, in order to timely and effectively make the payments for the benefits provided to Incluir Health beneficiaries, Non-Contributory Pensions (PNC) and PAMI affiliates, whose benefits are sustained by these funds under Law 24.901. In addition, they demanded that the necessary funds be guaranteed for the full execution of Law 27.793 on Disability Emergency, “being essential for the maintenance of the benefits system,” they expressed in a press release where they highlighted: “The disability emergency continues to be in force and seriously affects the sustainability of numerous institutions, many of which are today in a critical situation that puts the continuity of the benefits at risk.” “Having the presence and accompaniment of the sector is fundamental to strengthen this collective claim in defense of people with disabilities and the institutions that support their care,” they asserted.
