An alert has been issued for the rising of the Río de La Plata today in the City of Buenos Aires and the Northern and Southern Coastal areas of the Greater Buenos Aires. The information was released by the Naval Hydrographic Service, and authorities are urging extreme caution. The agency, dependent on the Ministry of Defense of the Nation, announced that for this Wednesday, February 25, there is an alert for the rising of the Río de La Plata at various points in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area. The Flood Prevention Center reported, according to the Argentine News Agency, that at 11:00 a height of 3.10 meters was recorded in the Port of La Plata, while at 12:30 the same scenario was seen in the Port of Buenos Aires, in the area of the Fishermen's Wharf. By 13:30, the highest height of the day is expected in San Fernando with 3.20 meters above the indicated values. This situation is occurring amid the storm that has hit the region in recent hours, which has caused several neighborhoods to remain flooded.
