Buenos Aires, January 17, 2026 - Total News Agency (TNA) - The Superintendence of Health Services has removed 20 entities from the National Registry of Prepaid Medicine Entities, within the framework of the system reorganization process promoted by the government of Javier Milei. In most cases, the absence of affiliates, the lack of effective service provision, and the non-existence of supporting documentation presented to the controlling body were verified. The decision is based on the provisions of Law No. 26.682, which regulates the activity of prepaid medicine, and empowers the Superintendence to deny or cancel registrations when entities do not meet the minimum requirements. Among the entities removed are the Buenos Aires Staff and Medicine Mutual Association; the Intercooperative Mutual Association; the Villa Cañás Electric, Public Services, Housing and Credit Limited Cooperative; the Maternal and Child Institute S.A.; Empy S.R.L.; Medical Emergencies Bolívar S.A.; and Cardio S.A. A second edict incorporated the Intercooperative Mutual Association; the Villa Cañás Electric, Public Services, Housing and Credit Limited Cooperative; the Maternal and Child Institute S.A.; Empy S.R.L.; Medical Emergencies Bolívar S.A.; and Cardio S.A. This measure adds to other resolutions adopted this same week, when the Superintendence had reported the removal of three additional companies: Staff Médico S.A.; Sancor Medicina Privada S.A.; and the Social Work of the Aeronautical Personnel. The official intention is for the registry to be composed only of entities that compete on equal terms and provide real and quality benefits to their members. With the most recent removals, there are now 135 irregular prepaid medicine companies that have been deregistered since the beginning of the current administration. According to the conclusions of the Superintendence, these were entities that had no affiliates or activity, but remained registered, distorting the functioning and supervision of the private health system. Among the entities removed are the Association of Bakery Workers and Related Health Services Mutual; the John Deere Argentina Mutual; the Aeronautical Mutual Assistance; the Medical Assistance Institute IMA; the Mar del Plata Medical Center Civil Association; the Social Work of the Argentine Tanning Industry Chamber; the Integral Consumption and Services Mutual Association; the Bartolomé Mitre Merchants Mutual Association; the Large Credit, Housing and Consumption Cooperative Ltda. The measure was officially formalized through two edicts published this Friday in the Official Gazette and adds to a series of similar resolutions adopted since the beginning of the current administration. According to health authorities, the audits carried out by the body detected that the excluded entities were registered in the registry but lacked real activity. The Association of National Education and Justice Ministry Personnel Mutual; Austral Integral Medical Organization S.A.; the Cuenca del Salado Public Works and Services, Credit Limited Cooperative. With these decisions, the number of excluded entities rises to 23 in recent days. The Government stated that the central objective of the process is to purify the registry and guarantee its transparency, eliminating companies that do not operate effectively but remained formally registered.
