Actress Silvina Scheffler was discharged this Friday after a ten-day stay in the intensive care unit due to a severe case of leptospirosis. The disease, which she contracted on December 22, is transmitted through the urine of infected animals or contact with water contaminated with the Leptospira bacteria. During her hospitalization, she turned to her social media for spiritual support: “I want to ask all of you to pray for me. It is costing me a lot to recover,” she wrote in an Instagram story. This request quickly generated a response from former reality show colleagues and close friends. Vanina Gramuglia shared the message and called on people to add “strength and light” through prayer. Hours after that message, Scheffler herself announced the good news: “Thank God and for every one of your prayers. It is a very difficult struggle,” she expressed in an audio sent to a journalist. Finally, Silvina Scheffler will be able to continue her recovery at home, accompanied by her loved ones, after overcoming one of the most critical stages of her health. “I have been discharged!” she wrote on her social networks, along with images of her return home and her cat Simona, who was waiting for her. In dialogue with Fernanda Iglesias, from the program Puro Show, the actress acknowledged that the recovery was complex: “It is costing me a lot to move forward, but I am taking it step by step.”
