Ricardo "Chiqui" Pereyra, the celebrated Argentine tango singer, died on Sunday at the age of 74 following a severe domestic accident. The singer, who was born in General Roca and had long been a fixture of Buenos Aires' music scene, collapsed after falling down a set of stairs and was taken to a hospital in the capital where doctors performed emergency surgery.
Despite the medical intervention, Pereyra’s condition remained critical. He was monitored in intensive care but did not regain consciousness, and he passed away in the early hours of the morning. The cause of death was complications from the fall and subsequent injuries.
