Argentina Simplifies Medical License Acquisition for Graduates

Buenos Aires, December 5 – The Ministry of Health, through its Minister Mario Lugones, signed an agreement with the Association of Medical School Deans (A.FA.CI.ME.R.A) to simplify the job placement of new professionals. The agreement allows graduates to receive their national registration along with their degree, eliminating post-graduation bureaucracy. The central objective of the initiative is to strengthen the articulation between the university system and the health system, while reducing bureaucratic burdens that have historically delayed the start of professional practice, according to the Argentine News Agency.

Mechanism for Direct Registration The agreement establishes the creation of a joint working table dedicated to analyzing and modifying current procedures. This will allow faculties and health schools to integrate the registration process into the study cycle. Unique Registry: Faculties that are part of A.FA.CI.ME.R.A will be able to process national registration directly through the Unique Registry of Health Professionals (R.U.P.S.). Requirements: To do so, institutions must comply with all requirements established by Ministerial Resolutions (currently 3320/2024 and 4827/2024), ensuring quality and ministerial supervision.

The Association of Faculties, which represents more than 30 institutions and is a key reference in educational quality, will play an active role in this simplification process. The signing of this agreement is part of a modernization plan driven by the Ministry of Health, focused on the elimination of bureaucracy and system efficiency.

Among the actions already implemented is the creation of a digital registration without expiration, which is managed free of charge through the Mi Argentina app. This digital document is already a sufficient requirement to work in national institutions. The Ministry of Health has already expressed its intention to soon sign similar agreements with the rest of the university careers whose registrations are issued by the health portfolio, consolidating a more agile system focused on the needs of professionals.
