In Buenos Aires, a Peruvian family with a criminal record was detained for transporting drugs in a vehicle. The incident took place in the Villa Urquiza neighborhood. Police officers noticed long plastic tubes protruding from the trunk of a Ford Ecosport. When they attempted to stop the car, the driver tried to flee but was intercepted at the intersection of Aizpurúa and Tamborini. The car's occupants were the 40-year-old driver, his 51-year-old wife, their 20-year-old daughter, and a 15-year-old minor. During a search, officers found white boxes with $1,865 and 1,633,000 pesos, bags of pink, green, and orange 'tusi' (a type of synthetic cannabis), seven packages of cocaine, and paper cuts for packaging. Under the passenger seat, they seized bags of marijuana, and in the rear of the vehicle, they confiscated five cell phones, a purse with more packages, and two cameras. The Flagrancia Norte Unit ordered the arrest of the couple and their 20-year-old daughter on charges of drug trafficking, while the minor was handed over to his mother. Additionally, it was found that the accused have a case for injuries and in February 2019, a shared residence they occupied was raided in a drug investigation.
