In celebration of the Subway Day and the International Day to Fight AIDS, several rock concerts and free HIV tests are being held this Monday on Line H of the Buenos Aires subway. This initiative is a collaboration between Subterráneos de Buenos Aires, the Alfonso Farías Civil Association, and the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).
The event began at 12:00 PM at Hospitales station with an itinerant acoustic concert inside the train, featuring three bands: Andando Descalzo, Abril Vizconti, and Los Pérez García.
Passengers and guests can get tested by UBA dentists as part of a prevention and awareness campaign. Furthermore, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, dental, medical, and zoonosis trailers from the UBA en Acción program will be available at Facultad de Derecho station on Av. Figueroa Alcorta. There, users and neighbors can get free HIV tests, access various health services, and receive condoms.
The Alfonso Farías Civil Association is a non-profit organization with over three decades of experience in prevention campaigns. Their main focus is on creating awareness campaigns about the issue of HIV and other STIs.
It was also reported that the Fundación Huésped will be present from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the corner of Humboldt and Cabrera streets in the Palermo neighborhood, offering free, no-appointment HIV tests.
