Tragic Case of Abandonment in Motorcycle Accident

On September 21, 2011, a tragic event marked the life of Atilio Veronelli. That day, his son Carlos, only 18 years old, passed away after spending ten days in a pharmacological coma. Carlos had suffered an accident while returning from a party on a motorcycle with a friend, who, according to Veronelli's report, abandoned him after the fall.

Amid the heartbreaking situation, Atilio Veronelli publicly expressed his deep pain and despair. He remembered his son as 'the most perfect baby, the sweetest boy, the happiest teenager, the most unforgettable memory, the most absolute helplessness, my most sincere love, the best of my life.' The actor showed remarkable courage in exposing the lack of humanity and negligence that, in his opinion, unjustly took his son away.

In a subsequent interview, Veronelli detailed the tragic events surrounding his son's death. He explained that neither of the young men were wearing helmets at the time of the accident and lamented that Carlos was without a crucial diagnosis for several hours due to delays at the hospital where he received initial care. According to him, instead of providing urgent medical assistance, they required specific documents and credentials from the health insurance, which aggravated the situation.

Atilio Veronelli emphasized the irregularities and medical negligence that, in his view, contributed to the fatal outcome. He stated with indignation that his son died due to the complete lack of timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment. With an indelible pain from the loss of Carlos, the incident deeply affected the actor, who years later passed away at 65 years old with the absence of his son as an open wound in his heart.
