The Dynamometric Test Bench known as "The Roller" has been reactivated at the Retiro Terminal. This equipment, which was out of service and had a deteriorated structure at the beginning of the new management, is now used to measure the overall condition of buses and coaches, focusing on compliance with speed limits. After being repaired and put into operation with updated technology, this test bench has allowed for 63 inspections in the first week, resulting in the withdrawal of 11 vehicles from services.
The National Transportation Regulation Commission (CNRT) reported that, during inspections conducted by agents, irregular vehicles are held until they comply with established parameters and the corresponding violation report is issued. After repairs were made at the end of last year, the cylinders were reinstalled, the structure was repaired, and the necessary tests, calibrations, and certifications were carried out to leave the Test Bench in optimal working condition.
The vehicle inspections focus on verifying various aspects such as the speed limiter, cockpit instrumentation, the presence of seat belts, extinguishers, among others. It is also essential to check the general condition of the vehicle, including bodywork, tires, documentation, lights, safety equipment, and interior cleanliness, among other aspects.
In short, the reactivation of "The Roller" at the Retiro Terminal has improved and strengthened technical controls over buses and coaches, ensuring safer and more efficient transportation for users.
