Olé Sports Summit Highlights the Future of Football in Argentina

The third edition of the Olé Sports Summit took place at the Usina del Arte in Buenos Aires, an important event in the South American sports industry that addressed topics related to marketing, technology, and sports management. During the day, different members of the national team, such as equipment managers, cooks, and maintenance staff, were honored, sharing emotional anecdotes about their work with the team.

One of the panels discussed technological innovation in stadiums, with discussions on the use of biometrics to enhance security and fan experience. In this context, Marcelo Figoli, owner of Burgos CF and president of Fénix Entertainment Group, highlighted the importance of convergence between football and entertainment. Figoli also expressed his enthusiasm for the possible participation of Argentine clubs in the 2025 Club World Cup, mentioning the historic rivalry between Boca Juniors and River Plate as an additional attraction for the tournament.

Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, addressed sensitive issues such as racism and piracy in football. Tebas pointed out that approximately 60% of Argentine viewers access sports content illegally, which harms the economy of local clubs and limits their ability to compete internationally.

During the event, Claudio Tapia, president of the AFA, honored key members of the Argentine National Team who contributed to the success in the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Figures like Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, sports figures like Facundo Conte and Nicolás Burdisso, and prominent businessmen like Marcelo Figoli also participated in this day.

Gianni Infantino, through a virtual message, highlighted the importance of South America in the global football context, especially looking ahead to the 2026 World Cup. He emphasized the relevance of increasing slots that will benefit the region. Marcelo Figoli stressed in his presentation the importance of creating experiences that go beyond sports itself, aiming to connect emotionally with fans and provide them with content that enriches their relationship with the club. Additionally, he emphasized the need to properly manage the passions of the fans to avoid conflicts, a vision he applies in his management at Burgos CF.
