Buenos Aires, April 13 (NA) – The ARV Libertad frigate has begun a new international training voyage that will take it to nine ports across the Americas over a 142-day journey. The itinerary includes stops in Brazil, the United States, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Brazil again before its return to the country in September.
The Argentine Navy's traditional training ship departed from the Buenos Aires Naval Base as part of its 54th Training Voyage. The crew is composed of officers, non-commissioned officers, and 45 midshipmen on commission who are completing their professional training in oceanic navigation.
This type of voyage serves a dual purpose: on one hand, it constitutes the final stage of naval training at sea; on the other, it reinforces the frigate's diplomatic role as an Argentine ambassador in international ports and at gatherings of great tall ships.
During the journey, the vessel will also participate in protocol activities related to the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, one of the central events of the itinerary planned for this edition.
The crew is made up of sailors from different provinces of the country, reflecting the federal nature of Argentine naval training and the institutional scope of the voyage, according to the Argentine News Agency (NA).

The return is scheduled for mid-September, when the frigate will re-enter the Rio de la Plata anchorage before mooring again at the Buenos Aires Naval Base.
