Play 'Apenas lejos' begins its second season in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, April 1 (NA) – The play 'Apenas lejos' begins its second season on April 4, with shows on Saturdays at 9:30 PM at Moscow Theatre. It resumes a story that intertwines the past and the present through the experience of exile. The plot follows Mónica and Alicia, two sisters who are emptying their grandmother's house with the goal of selling it. The narrative puts the migrant experience, family bonds, and the transformation of language in contexts of uprooting at the forefront. The cast, made up of Lucía Márquez, Isabel La Rosa, Vanesa Aloi, and Hernán Salcedo, sustains a scenic proposal that combines sensitivity and reflection. The production, with set and costume design by Camila Gastaldi, builds a space where the past and present coexist with almost no distance. Thus, 'Apenas lejos' is presented as a piece about transitional identity, where the home ceases to be a fixed place to become an emotional construction. Tickets are valued at $20,000 and can be purchased through Alternativa Teatral or at the theatre box office. So, the story of that couple from forty years ago intertwines with the current tensions of the protagonists, traversed by a persistent question: is it better to leave or to stay? With dramaturgy and direction by Luciana Taverna, the play addresses memory as a disputed territory, where memories function both as a refuge and a reproach. Among forgotten objects, the cassettes that their parents sent from France during the years of exile emerge, sparking a dialogue between generations.
