The 31st Prosecutor's Office, which is leading the investigation into the collapse of the “Estación Buenos Aires” housing complex located in Parque Patricios, stated that it seeks to “protect the neighbors and authorized tasks of shoring up, demolition, and debris removal”. According to the communiqué accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the office led by María Selvatici began the investigation last Tuesday, March 3, and ordered “a battery of urgent measures aimed at clarifying the crime, determining its causes, and the integral preservation of the evidence”. In this context, they indicated that “the investigation is currently in full process” and they aim to establish the circumstances in which the rupture occurred, as well as “the possible criminal responsibilities that may derive from what happened”. “After having taken the necessary precautions to safeguard those involved, the carrying out of shoring up tasks in the place, demolition, and debris removal, as well as the removal and relocation of vehicles and the coordinated entry of affected persons, was authorized,” the entity stated. According to the information provided, the entry of residents will be limited to one person per property and will have the sole purpose of withdrawing strictly essential belongings. In this sense, it will be necessary to have the express written consent of the professionals responsible for the authorized work plan, in order not to hinder the work and minimize risks for those who access the site. Among the measures is also the production of expert reports aimed at determining the causes of the collapse, whose implementation was promoted from the outset with the total preservation of the evidence.
