Moschino's Argentine-Inspired Collection Shines in Milan

The Italian fashion house Moschino surprised at Milan Fashion Week with a collection marked by a strong Argentine inspiration. Titled "Tierra", the proposal was presented on March 3 and bears the imprint of designer Adrián Appiolaza, the brand's current creative director, according to the Argentine News Agency. Born in Buenos Aires and based in Europe for years, Appiolaza decided to look to his roots and bring Argentine cultural references to one of the world's most influential runways. Among the pieces that were part of the collection were direct nods to Mafalda, the iconic character created by Quino, which was printed on different garments such as t-shirts and dresses. It also included a visual reinterpretation of Eva Perón, whose portrait appeared in a pixelated version within the brand's aesthetic. Additionally, the proposal incorporated other elements linked to the porteño identity, such as the Obelisk of Buenos Aires and the traditional fileteado porteño, a characteristic decorative style of the city. The visual narrative of the show also incorporated references to tango, the gaucho tradition, and textiles related to local craftsmanship. The accessories also reflected that creative spirit, with unconventional-shaped bags inspired by criollo guitars, cacti, and even churro bags on the runway. The proposal combined the irreverent and playful style that characterizes the brand with elements easily recognizable to the Argentine public. The show not only had an Argentine presence in the collection but also in the audience. In the front row were artists such as Duki and Emilia Mernes, who were photographed by the specialized press. Actor Franco Masini and singer Juliana Gattas also attended, adding local presence to one of the most prominent events on the international fashion calendar. The result was a collection that brought the country's symbols to the Milan runway and made Argentine popular culture the protagonist of the Autumn-Winter 2026 season.
