The Argentine audience is unique," concludes the DJ.BUENOS AIRES, Feb 16 (NA) – As part of the Kosmos stage by Thonet & Vanderel on February 15, Xul Nox demonstrated why his melodies are one of the fastest-growing proposals on the local electronic music scene.Agustín Herrera performed at Ultra 2026 this time solo, without his partner Eduardo Mallea, and spoke with Agencia Noticias Argentina about the philosophy behind his music and his upcoming international steps. The duo's concept is hidden behind its own name, chosen to represent its sound:"The name occurred to my friend. We seek a balance between darkness and light, which is what our music is based on: a bit of melodic, a bit of love, and a bit of darkness," explains Herrera. This balance is not only conceptual but is already bearing international fruit. We are mixed with a bit of everything."After his performance at the Kosmos stage, Xul Nox's schedule is divided between appearances in Buenos Aires clubs such as La Biblioteca and a possible European tour that would run from July to February. In October 2025, the duo marked a milestone in their career with the release of their EP "Promises" through the W Berlin label, consolidating their presence in the global melodic techno circuit.Despite having opened for major DJs like Camelphat, Herrera maintains the premise of humility towards his sound:"Finding your own sound is a long process; we are in the process of continuing to move forward and continue mutating," he assures."'Xul' backwards is 'Luz' (light) and 'Nox' means night. However, when choosing a city for a residency, he acknowledges that nothing compares to Argentina:"Obviously, the dream is to play abroad, but there is nothing nicer than playing at home. For him, the key lies in versatility and knowing how to read the audience:"We try to read the dancefloor and, based on that, build the set's development."
