HBO Max Changes Premiere Day for 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' Episode 4

The HBO Max platform has changed the release day for the fourth episode of the series "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms", whose premiere is now set for Friday, February 6, to avoid competing with the Super Bowl. The new "Game of Thrones" spin-off is based on the tales of Dunk and Egg and offers a more intimate look at the world of Westeros.

After a launch that captured global audience attention, the series is now available on the platform with its first three episodes and is preparing for the premiere of its fourth chapter this Sunday, but with a change of day, according to the Argentine News Agency.

This fiction positions itself as the second official spin-off of the franchise, joining the success of "House of the Dragon".

Buenos Aires, February 5 (NA) – HBO Max has decided to double down on its bet for the "Game of Thrones" universe with the launch of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms", the new production that expands the mythology created by George R.R. Martin. With the arrival of the fourth episode, the streaming platform seeks to establish this premiere as one of the pillars of its programming for the start of 2026, keeping the interest in the world of ice and fire alive while other projects of the saga are developed.

When does "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms", episode 4, premiere

For its premiere, the streaming platform released the first episode simultaneously at 10 PM ET, so in Argentina it was available from midnight (i.e., in the early morning of Monday, January 19). For the second episode, HBO Max decided to move its premiere up by 1 minute, so that it would remain on the same Sunday: in this way, it was available from 11:59 PM in Argentina. For its third installment, the platform returns to its original idea, and the chapter will be ready for playback from midnight on Monday, February 2.

Now, HBO Max is changing the day again for the fourth, but to a weekday: it will premiere this Friday, February 6. This decision by the platform is because Sunday is the Super Bowl.

Unlike its predecessor, which focuses on the internal disputes of the House of Targaryen, this story is based on the short novels known as the "Tales of Dunk and Egg". The narrative is set approximately a century before the events of the original series, following the adventures of a wandering knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his young and unusual squire, Egg, in a Westeros where the dragon dynasty still holds the Iron Throne.

The production seeks to offer a more intimate and adventurous tone, momentarily moving away from the large-scale epic battles to focus on the development of its protagonists and the exploration of the kingdom under a different light.
