Santiago del Moro, the host, spoke in depth about what will be 'Big Brother: Golden Generation', a special edition that will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the format and mark a new chapter in the reality show's history. 'Big Brother never went unnoticed, it was always a success,' affirmed the host, highlighting the personal bond he maintains with the program since its beginnings on television. Del Moro explained that this new version will not be a Big Brother of celebrities or VIPs, as had been speculated, but an open edition for all, designed for passionate players of the format. 'We did not go out looking for celebrities. The people who come in here have to play, leave their lives and live with other people,' he stressed. In this sense, he detailed that the casting had three access routes: an open call via the internet, direct invitations from the production and open physical tests for the public. From the process emerged 42 pre-selected candidates, although not all will enter the house: 'We are very happy with the pre-selection.' 'We believe that resumes, careers and fandoms are left outside'. Among the novelties of the game, Del Moro announced the incorporation of 'planeta-placa', an instance in which the public will be able to vote to eliminate those they consider are not playing. In addition, the 3, 2 and 1 nomination system will return, with three votes for one player, two for another and one for a third: 'We want the one who enters to realize where he is and to play'. The house will also have important modifications: new sectors, two swimming pools, a renewed red door, a little plaza and changes in the rooms, in addition to unprecedented elements that will be part of the game. Additionally, Del Moro announced his debut in streaming with 'La Cumbre', a program in which he will interview one-on-one the evicted participant after each gala. As for the screen, Big Brother: Golden Generation will begin on February 23 and, during the first days, it will start after MasterChef Celebrity at 22:15.
