Argentina launches summer recreation program for children

The 'Open Schools in Summer' program has launched in Moreno. Mayor Mariel Fernández visited the activities at the Diego Armando Maradona Sports Complex. This initiative benefits over 3,000 children across 54 educational institutions.

The program runs in collaboration with the Buenos Aires provincial government. It targets children and adolescents aged 3 to 18. Its core goal is to guarantee rights to recreation, education, and food during the summer break. Breakfast and lunch are provided free of charge through the School Food Service (SAE).

Activities run until January 30 and are spread across several locations. The main hub is the Diego Armando Maradona complex, featuring a wave pool. Sports centers in Paso del Rey, Las Catonas, and San Carlos are also hosting activities.

The schedule includes games, sports, and educational workshops. Artistic activities and aquatic recreation are also part of the program. Officials emphasize that this is a free, inclusive initiative aimed at ensuring a quality summer for local youth.
