Premiere of Animated Film 'Arco' in Buenos Aires

The animated film 'Arco', written and directed by Ugo Bienvenu and produced by Natalie Portman, had its premiere in Buenos Aires, and Noticias Argentinas was there. This animated film is emotional from start to finish, proposing an adventure and a story that captivates both adults and children. Through the eyes of Arco, who comes from a simpler world, the absurdity of the world we are heading towards, the world of Iris, is revealed.

'Arco is a metaphor for the best that could happen,' expressed Ugo Bienvenu. Luckily, Iris, a ten-year-old girl, sees the mysterious boy fall from the sky, and with the help of her caregiver robot, they embark on a heartwarming odyssey to return Arco home.

With vibrant colors, a singular world-building, and a tender core of friendship, 'Arco' embraces the timeless magic of visual storytelling and invites everyone to dream of a brighter future. As clear as crystal, the film illustrates this near future, in which the young Arco is helped by little Iris, a product of her time, raised by her robot nanny.

Although he is too young to embark on such journeys, the impatient Arco escapes on his own, only to discover that he has been stranded in the year 2075, in a more dangerous world than his own. 'Arco' had its World Premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, was the winner of the Crystal for Best Feature Film and the SACEM Award for Best Original Music at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, and is nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 2026 Golden Globes and Oscars.

Animated entirely in 2D, it is the directorial debut of the French filmmaker, known for his work as a comic book illustrator and animator of music videos and short films. It shows that although the world and the conditions in which we live change, there is something that is a constant in all times: bonds. Family love and friendships transcend all eras and end up being the fundamental value in life.

The film features the voices of Alma Jodorowsky (Threesome), Swann Arlaud (Anatomy of a Fall), Vincent Macaigne (Bonnard, Pierre et Marthe), Louis Garrel (The Dreamers), William Lebghil (Soda) and French rapper Oxmo Puccino.

Nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 2026 Golden Globes and Oscars, this adventure sparked by an encounter that should never have happened between two children from different eras, will arrive in theaters on February 5, 2026.

She lives in a world of illusions, where she sees her absent parents through holograms and where nature is battered by disasters. Influenced by science fiction comics, it is a production aimed at a children's and family audience. Unlike the trend of current and past sci-fi authors, who address the genre in a negative and apocalyptic way, Arco gives hope to the present generation by presenting a world that invites imagining a desirable and possible future full of hope in which humanity evolves in harmony with nature.

In a distant and idyllic future, humanity has mastered the power of time travel thanks to colorful suits that leave rainbow trails in the sky.
