A man has been arrested in Buenos Aires for stabbing another person upon exiting a subway station in late December. Through the analysis of security cameras, police were able to identify the attacker and conduct an operation to apprehend him.

Buenos Aires, January 16 (NA) – A man was detained in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Villa Crespo accused of stabbing a person with a bladed weapon upon exiting subway line D in Palermo at the end of December last year. The Division 14 Community Investigations carried out a raid in Villa Crespo at a home on Avenida Honorio Pueyrredón 1800, where the aggressor was arrested and items of interest to the case were seized.

The investigated incident occurred on December 29th of last year near the exit of Scalabrini Ortiz station on subway line D, where the 32-year-old victim was stabbed in the abdomen by an aggressor who then fled on foot, as confirmed to the Argentine News Agency. Following the complaint, investigators from Commune 14, along with the City Police's Records Analysis Division, conducted a review of security cameras and analyzed the material obtained, which allowed them to reconstruct the escape route, identify the attacker, and locate his address.

Upon entering the home, officers managed to subdue and arrest the accused. During the procedure, a pair of sunglasses, a shirt, denim shorts, a pair of sneakers, a wristwatch, and a cell phone were seized. A detail provided by the authorities is that the accused has a criminal record for a personal injury incident that occurred in 2021 in the Caballito neighborhood, in the context of a traffic conflict.

The case is being investigated by the Prosecutor's Office for Criminal, Contravention, and Misdemeanor No. 4, headed by Mauro Tedeszko.
