Temporary Closure of Buenos Aires Airport

The Ministro Pistarini International Airport will be temporarily closed tomorrow for runway maintenance. The closure is scheduled for tomorrow, January 9th, from 13:55 to 17:40 local time. The runway maintenance work was scheduled due to force majeure, according to an official statement from Noticias Argentinas. The preventive runway maintenance was coordinated and agreed upon with the airlines, Aeropuertos Argentina, and airport authorities as part of the work with the aviation community. This decision was made following a technical assessment, aiming to optimize operational conditions while always prioritizing operational safety, the central axis of the aeronautical system. The work will be carried out by Aeropuertos Argentina and is being executed immediately and preventively to mitigate potential major impacts on airport operations, ensuring service continuity under adequate conditions. The airlines operating at the terminal were duly notified and participated in the joint analysis to determine the time slot with the least operational impact, agreeing that the scheduled time is the most suitable to minimize the effect on passengers. In this context, 41 flights will be affected, and their operations are being rescheduled by the airlines.
