Taxi Driver in Buenos Aires Crashes While Intoxicated

A serious accident occurred in Buenos Aires. In the San Telmo neighborhood, a taxi driver lost control of his vehicle, crashing into a Metrobus lane and a street light pole. After an alcohol test, it was found that his blood alcohol level was 2.17 grams per liter. The incident happened on Monday morning on Avenida Paseo Colón. According to police sources, officers from the 1F police precinct arrived at the scene. As they approached the driver, the 51-year-old man became aggressive, refused to identify himself, and was detained. The Prosecutor's Office for Flagrant Crimes was then consulted, which ordered traffic personnel to be called for the breathalyzer test. The test was positive at 2.17 g/L, so the driver was notified of a violation for drunk driving, and the vehicle was immobilized and towed to an impound lot. Meanwhile, the roadway was narrowed to carry out the work of removing cables and the light pole.
