The National Meteorological Service (SMN) has again issued alerts for various adverse weather events, including strong storms and possible hail. These phenomena will affect a large part of the country on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24. According to the Argentine News Agency, the storms with possible hail will affect the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) and the entire center and north of the country. SMN maintains the probability of isolated storms in AMBA for the night from Wednesday to Thursday, December 25. An improvement in the weather is expected from the morning of Thursday: mostly cloudy, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon and evening. The storms will be accompanied by frequent electrical activity, occasional hail, and abundant rainfall in short periods. Accumulated precipitation of between 30 and 60 mm is forecast, which may be locally exceeded. SMN warns that gusts of wind during the storms could reach 80 km/h. SMN Recommendations: Avoid going outside. Do not take out the trash and clean drains and sewers. Unplug appliances and cut off the electricity supply if water enters. Close and stay away from doors and windows. Remove or secure objects that could be blown away by the wind. If you are outdoors, seek immediate shelter in a building, house, or enclosed vehicle.
