The series retells the story of Trevor, played by Rowan Atkinson, a divorced man with little skill for following instructions. Trevor finds himself alone on the outskirts of the city, far from his teenage daughter Maddy, just as the holidays arrive. He takes a job as a janitor at a primary school, hoping to spend a quiet Christmas alone.
Trevor, who is not precisely the best at handling unexpected events, is forced to care for the baby despite doing everything possible to avoid it. The comedy miniseries focuses on the challenge this baby represents for Trevor, leading him on an unexpected, moving, and clumsy adventure in his struggle to manage this tender, yet chaotic, new presence in his life.
However, his plans are altered on the last day of work during an emotional school play about the birth of Jesus.
