Controversy over the Martín Fierro de Streaming Awards

Host Pedro Rosemblat has strongly criticized the paid voting system for the Martín Fierro de Streaming awards, questioning the use of the funds collected.

Controversy over the Martín Fierro de Streaming Awards

The prelude to the first-ever Martín Fierro de Streaming awards, set for December 14 at the Buenos Aires Convention Center, is far from a celebratory path. According to the Argentine News Agency, the controversy escalated further with the intervention of Pedro Rosemblat, who directly targeted the brothers Luis and Bernarda Cella, heads of OLGA. This was after it was announced that two categories (Best Community and Clip of the Year) would be decided by a paid public vote. Amidst the crossfire between the criticisms of Occhiato and Pergolini and the defense of the Cellas, Pedro Rosemblat also chimed in with his signature irony. On his show 'Industria Nacional,' he quipped: 'Are we going to the Martín Fierro de Streaming or Luis Cella's birthday party? Who knows.' He also took the opportunity to ask his followers not to vote for his own show, Gelatina, and instead donate their money to community activities: 'We'll be waiting for you at Argentinos Juniors on December 19. Who are we blowing the candles for?' The host strongly criticized the requirement for the public to pay to vote in two categories and questioned the destination of that money: 'Is the money donated? Is it distributed?'
