Two Die in Buenos Aires Traffic Accident

Argentine authorities are seeking witnesses to clarify a fatal traffic collision that occurred in the Monserrat neighborhood of Buenos Aires, resulting in the deaths of two young men.

The head of the National Prosecutor's Office for Criminal Investigation No. 2, Santiago Vismara, is asking for the public's cooperation to find witnesses who can shed light on the incident. The crash took place the evening of Friday, November 28th, on Huergo Avenue, near the intersection with Belgrano Avenue, on the border with the Puerto Madero district. A blue Volkswagen Amarok pickup truck and a gray Citroën C3 car collided.

According to the request published on the Fiscales portal, to which the Noticias Argentinas agency had access, that night, between 9:45 PM and 10:15 PM, the vehicles were traveling south on Huergo Avenue when, for reasons still under investigation, they collided.

The driver of the car died from the force of the impact, while the other victim was a cyclist who was at the scene and was run over.

«We ask anyone who can provide information about the event to contact the prosecutor's office at the phone number (011) 7092-6021/2 or by email fiscri2-nac@mpf.gov.ar,» the statement emphasizes.

The case is being handled by prosecutor Laura Bruniard, who filed it as double negligent homicide and injuries. So far, all evidence points to the driver of the pickup truck as being responsible.
