Valentín Yankelevich, son of Romina Yan, put into words the emotional impact of the harassment that producer Cris Morena has been suffering for at least five years.
“We have been accompanying her for a long time,” said Valentín, setting the tone for a problem that, as confirmed by the Justice system this week, has escalated to alarming levels, according to the Argentine News Agency. Valentín clearly described how they experienced the escalation of harassment from within their home: “We provide her with support. I am sure that she is more relaxed now because action has been taken.” Before concluding his testimony, Valentín made clear the severity of the emotional damage the situation caused Cris Morena: “She suffered a lot. She did not have it easy, but she always relied on us,” he assured. Although he tried to preserve his grandmother's privacy, he admitted there were “several” harassment situations and that the emotional impact still persists. “If I talk about fear, I'm talking about a specific incident. I just accompany my grandmother,” he concluded.
While the investigation remains in the hands of the Justice system, the family maintains its privacy and support, hoping that the judicial process will finally bring relief after years of silent harassment.
The Legal Case
The Justice system is moving forward against the accused, Leandro Lo Giudice, a 51-year-old man who, according to the case file, has been harassing the producer for five years. Prosecutor José Sylvie and Judge María Julia Correa ordered a search in Lanús, where the City Police seized disturbing material: notes with Cris Morena's name, magazine clippings with her eyes cut out, and a mobile phone and computer that will now be analyzed. According to sources close to the investigation, the man already had a restraining order but had repeatedly violated it. For this reason, as a new measure, he was fitted with an electronic ankle bracelet for six months to ensure compliance with the established perimeter.
A video aired on 'A la Tarde' recently showed the accused lurking on the sidewalk in front of Cris's house, an episode that reignited the family's fear.
