El Eternauta Impacts the Argentine Economy

The launch of the first season of the series "El Eternauta" has been a milestone in Argentine audiovisual production by adapting the iconic graphic novel by Héctor G. Oesterheld and Francisco Solano López. The series has not only been well received by the public, but it has also had a significant impact on the national economy by injecting more than 41 billion pesos through its investment in filming and the supply chain.

The story of Juan Salvo, the unlikely hero, has transcended borders since its premiere on April 30. "El Eternauta" has positioned itself in the global weekly Top 10 of Netflix as the number 1 non-English language series, with 10.8 million views worldwide. Additionally, the artistic dedication is highlighted with the use of over 500 masks to bring the characters of the plot to life.

The success of the series not only elevates Argentine literature but also demonstrates the ability of the local audiovisual industry to produce globally quality content. The cultural impact has reached 87 countries and has consolidated Argentina's position on the international scene.

The Argentine team behind the screen dedicated two years to the development and writing of scripts, followed by four and a half months of pre-production and 148 days of shooting in various locations in Buenos Aires. The confirmation of a second season is a testament to the ongoing potential of "El Eternauta" to captivate the audience.

The post-production phase, which lasted more than a year and a half, exemplifies the meticulousness with which every detail has been worked on. With more than 50 real locations and 35 virtual sets, the project has required the effort of a human team of 2900 people, including a talented cast and numerous extras.
