Juan Salvo: A Soccer Hero in El Eternauta

The main character of "El Eternauta", Juan Salvo, not only embodies the common citizen in a Buenos Aires ravaged by a deadly snowfall, but he also reveals in a vignette his passion for football: he was a fan of River Plate.

According to the specialized site La Página Millonaria, in one of the scenes of the comic, when the survivors arrive at the Monumental stadium, Salvo remembers that the last time he was there was during a tribute to Ángel Labruna, where he witnessed La Máquina, the mythical forward line of the club.

This curious detail not only strengthens the popular and porteño character of the character but also establishes a direct link between the comic's story and the River Plate identity. This background is maintained even in the Netflix adaptation premiered on April 30.
