Security Operation in Buenos Aires for March

The Buenos Aires government has announced that 900 members of the City Police will be mobilized to carry out a security operation during the march scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, near the Congress. Traffic cuts will be implemented starting at 9 a.m. in an area bounded by the streets Paraná, Sáenz Peña, Bartolomé Mitre, Ayacucho, Sarandí, and Adolfo Alsina. Additionally, 600 traffic agents will ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the adjacent areas.

On the night before the demonstration, 350 waste containers will be removed from a larger area, extending from Sarmiento to Combate de los Pozos, and from Moreno to 9 de Julio, as well as Avenida de Mayo between 9 de Julio and Plaza de Mayo. According to authorities, the logistical cost of this operation for the removal and reinstatement of containers amounts to $66 million. It is expected that Congress will remain fenced, preventing the circulation of both vehicles and people.

The Ministry of National Security, led by Patricia Bullrich, has not specified the number of federal forces that will be deployed for this operation. Regarding the march itself, the details indicate the presence of 900 assigned members of the City Police, as well as 600 traffic agents assisting in traffic regulation.

Traffic cuts will begin at 9 a.m., affecting a perimeter bounded by the streets Paraná, Sáenz Peña, Bartolomé Mitre, Ayacucho, Sarandí, and Adolfo Alsina. Additionally, there are plans for the provisional removal of 350 waste containers in strategic areas from Sarmiento to Combate de los Pozos, and from Moreno to 9 de Julio, including Avenida de Mayo between 9 de Julio and Plaza de Mayo. The breakdown of this removal and reinstatement process amounts to $66 million.
