The city of Buenos Aires will celebrate Valentine's Day with a special initiative from the Secretariat of Government and Citizen Link, which has been very well received by the neighbors, quickly selling out all available spots. The ceremonies will take place outdoors in four representative locations of the city: the Caminito museum street in La Boca, the Botanical Garden in Palermo, the Casona de los Olivera in Mataderos, and the Vatican Square in San Nicolás.
Each of these spaces will host six couples who will have the opportunity to get married in a special event, carefully organized to make the occasion an unforgettable moment. According to César Torres, Secretary of Government and Citizen Link, the unions will be broadcast live on Instagram, allowing friends and family who cannot attend to witness the emotional moment remotely.
Each ceremony will last 30 minutes and an average attendance of 50 guests is expected. It has been specified that the use of bubbles or rice for the celebration will not be allowed. Regarding the specific details and protocols for each location:
- In Caminito (La Boca), a special gazebo will be set up for the bride and groom and their witnesses, with typical decoration from the neighborhood. - In the Casona de los Olivera (Mataderos), a decorated car will bring the couple to the venue, allowing for the throwing of rose petals. - In the Vatican Square (San Nicolás), with the Teatro Colón in the background, the ceremonies will be accompanied by a string quartet, featuring an elegant setup and Tiffany chairs for the guests.
The organization will provide wedding arches, bags with petals, sun umbrellas, banners, backdrops for Instagram photos, decorative frames, and other details. Regarding restrictions and protocols at each location, in the Botanical Garden (Palermo), the ceremonies will take place in front of the main building, with environmental restrictions such as moderate music volume and reduced floral decoration. A total of 24 couples will be joined in marriage during this celebration that will take place on Friday, February 14.
