The renowned costume designer of Argentine cinema, Horacio Previde Longe-Lannes, passed away at the age of 93 on January 23rd. With nearly seven decades of experience, he dressed well-known figures of Argentine cinema and theater such as Hugo del Carril, Fernando Ayala, Luis César Amadori, Pino Solanas, Tita Merello, Mecha Ortiz, Libertad Lamarque, Mirtha Legrand, Susana Giménez, Rodolfo Bebán, and Alberto Olmedo.

Lannes, born in the Flores neighborhood, began his career in 1952 and designed costumes for over a hundred film productions, receiving multiple awards and distinctions throughout his career. Among his most notable works are films like "The Boys of Before Didn't Use Hair Gel," "The Smile of Mom," "Passengers of a Nightmare," and "Oh Juancito."

The designer was awarded the Silver Scissors by the Argentine Fashion Chamber, as well as recognition for his career from the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA). Additionally, he received tributes from Argentores, the Argentine Cinematographic Industry Union (SICA), and the Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. In 2005, he was honored with the Silver Condor for Best Costume by the Association of Film Critics of Argentina.

Among the personalities he designed for are Lolita Torres, Zully Moreno, Mercedes Carreras, Isabel Sarli, Elina Colomer, and Carmen Sevilla.
