The president of the Nation, Javier Milei, praised the inflation level reached in October, which is at 2.7%. Additionally, he indicated that it will decrease to 1% monthly in the next two months. In a message on his social networks, Milei stated: "If we subtract induced inflation, monetary inflation has been traveling at 0.2% monthly, which is 2.4% annually. If this inflation is confirmed for two more months, the monthly devaluation will drop to 1%."
Milei also shared the official data from Indec that reported the monthly inflation of 2.7%, the lowest in the last three years. Indec reported that the accumulated inflation for the year was 107% and the year-on-year reached 193%. In each of his public interventions, the president has expressed the downward trend of inflation, implying that the economy is recovering and the recession has ended.
On his part, the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, praised the decrease in inflation, considering it a battle that has been won. During his participation in the annual Congress of the FIEL Foundation at the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange, Caputo expressed his satisfaction with the achievements in terms of inflation. He highlighted that expectations have been surpassed and that it is aligning with international standards.
Several economists present at the event praised the reduction of inflation, highlighting that a continuation of this downward trend is expected. The uncertainty lies in whether this decrease will be maintained at the expected pace.
