In October, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) experienced increases according to various consulting firms in Argentina. The consulting firm OJF & Associates reported a monthly increase of 2.7%, reaching a cumulative 101.6% for the year to date. The Libertad y Progreso Foundation agreed with this percentage and indicated that a lower acceleration of prices was observed compared to September, with an annual cumulative variation of 109.2% and a year-on-year variation of 205.9%.
On the other hand, C&T Economic Advisors reported a 2.8% increase for the same period. The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) is expected to present its own Consumer Price Index for October, anticipating a deceleration to around 3%, which would be the lowest level in the last three years.
The October inflation report is expected to show a decrease in the pace of price increases compared to previous measurements. According to private estimates, a 120% price increase is projected for the year, which would represent a reduction compared to previous months. The Market Expectations Survey calculated that inflation for October reached 3%, while inflation in the City of Buenos Aires marked 3.2% in the tenth month of the year, accumulating a 122.1% increase year-to-date.
Consulting firms such as Eco Go predict that October inflation was 2.8%, claiming that the indicator was moderated partly due to the behavior of regulated prices. The factor related to the reduction of the PAIS tax may have contributed to this deceleration. Meanwhile, Equilibra projects slightly higher inflation for October, estimating 3.1% and a core variation of 3.3%.
