Argentina's Economy Minister, Luis Caputo, announced on Monday that March inflation will be above 3%, in line with estimates from various private consulting firms. According to figures reported by the Argentine News Agency, the high March inflation is not only due to rising gasoline prices, which will also impact April's figures. This information came just hours before the official publication of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which will be released by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) on Tuesday, April 14, at 4:00 PM. Caputo explained: 'It will surely be above 3% because there was a shock that obviously had an impact on everything related to oil, from domestic flights to transportation; there are issues like education, which has its seasonality in March.' In this regard, Caputo stated that the price increase was influenced by specific factors, such as the rising costs associated with oil and adjustments at the start of the school year. Nevertheless, the minister expressed optimism for the coming months, assuring that 'starting in April, a process of disinflation and growth will begin,' while also stating that 'the best months are coming' in economic terms. The statements were made during the presentation of the book 'The Music Changes, Now the Step Must Change' by analyst Salvador Di Stefano at the Rosario Stock Exchange. Meanwhile, the head of the Ministry of the Treasury is preparing to travel to Washington D.C. to participate in the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, a key event for the country's economic agenda.
