The cycle-trend index showed an advance of 0.8% compared to December. Regarding inputs, five of the thirteen items increased in January, while the remaining eight were below the annual measurement. The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) will release this Thursday indicators on the industrial and construction sectors. According to what Noticias Argentinas agency learned, the body will announce the Manufacturing Industrial Production Index (IPI) and the Synthetic Indicator of Construction Activity (ISAC), both corresponding to February. The focus will be on the performance of the first one, as it is one of the sectors most affected by the government's economic program. The IPI conducts a survey of all economic activities that make up the national manufacturing industry. In January, it fell by 3.2% compared to the same month of 2025 and recorded the seventh consecutive drop: July (-0.7%), August (-4.2%), September (-0.2%), October (-2.7%), November (-8.8%), December (-4%) and January (-3.2%). Construction continues to rise, while industry fails to rebound: what the reports say. However, in the monthly measurement it rose by 3.1% and in the cycle-trend series by 0.8%. Regarding the ISAC, it is responsible for showing the evolution of the sector, taking as a reference the apparent consumption of inputs required in construction. In the first month of the year, it increased by 1.2% year-on-year and recorded a positive monthly variation close to zero.
