Buenos Aires, April 2 (NA) — Amid the boom in instant transfers, Coelsa, through which all money movements in the country pass, announced the launch of proximity payments (NFC) for bank and virtual accounts. When this system is used, it will no longer be necessary to use "aliases." This will be the first case in Latin America where "phone-to-phone" transfers can be made. Instant money transfers already represent more than 650 million operations per month, with an amount approaching 75 trillion pesos, according to the latest Retail Payments Report from the BCRA. Instant transfers have increased by more than 25% in volume over the last year. And over 75% are made from or to a virtual wallet. This system will seek to compete with QR payments, which account for almost 99% of instant transfer operations. Additionally, 16.5 million monthly trips using QR are already registered, mostly on buses.
