The Government of the City of Buenos Aires has changed the payment method for the Real Estate Tax (ABL) and will no longer use paper bills. As of April, the issuance of ABL and patent invoices for taxpayers in the city will be completely digital. In conclusion, all payments will be made virtually. The payment process for ABL and patents will be convenient, as taxpayers will be just one click away from paying each tax. To do this, they will need internet access to log in to the AGIP website and, with their tax number, they will be able to view and pay the bill, which can also be downloaded. Another option will be to enter the personal email address where the bill arrives monthly and pay without having to search for it on the AGIP website. Likewise, the bills will also be displayed in Home Banking, from where users can choose to pay by digital means. In this context, for those still waiting for the bill to arrive at their home, starting Wednesday, April 1st, the bills will be available on the web and displayed in banking systems. However, those who are not yet tech-friendly will continue to receive assistance at AGIP offices. Thus, the change in habit is accelerating as the system will gradually be extended to all city taxes, as is the case with the digitization of procedures. With this advance, the measure that was already functioning in the city is completed, as more than 50% of the population has been joining the digital payment offer through the corresponding municipal channels for years.
Buenos Aires to Implement 100% Digital Tax Payments
Starting in April, the Buenos Aires City government will eliminate paper bills for the Real Estate Tax (ABL) and patents, shifting to a fully digital payment system to improve convenience and reduce environmental impact.
