ANSES to Implement New Variable Bonus Scheme for Retirees

Buenos Aires, March 12 (NA) – The National Social Security Administration (ANSES) will implement a new variable bonus scheme for retirees starting March 20, which will be adjusted according to the amount of pension each beneficiary receives. Under the scheme, those who earn more than the minimum pension will receive a smaller top-up, as the bonus will be progressively reduced as the monthly income increases. Retirees receiving the minimum pension will continue to receive the full bonus of 70,000 pesos. With this top-up, those on the minimum pension will reach a total income of 439,600.88 pesos in March, a figure used as a reference to determine who qualifies for the full bonus and who will receive a lesser amount. The minimum pension for March, with a 2.88% increase calculated based on the inflation index reported by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC), is now set at 369,600.88 pesos. Thus, this top-up scheme aims to supplement the income of retirees with lower pensions, while for those with higher pensions, the bonus is gradually reduced until it no longer applies.
