New Economics Program on Public TV

Argentina's public TV launches a new economic cycle with a former presidential advisor. The show has sparked debate due to the contrast between the host's past in the Peronist administration and his current role under President Milei.

New Economics Program on Public TV

Buenos Aires, March 8 (NA) – Public television will launch a new cycle dedicated to economics and finance in the coming days, hosted by Antonio Aracre, the businessman and former official who served as Chief of Advisors to the Presidency during Alberto Fernández's government.

The program, called “Economists,” will air every Wednesday at 11 PM starting March 11. It will be aimed at explaining economic concepts to the general public and will address topics such as inflation, savings, and investments.

Aracre's debut on Channel 7 has generated commentary in political and media circles due to the contrast between his recent past in the Peronist administration and his current presence on the state channel during Javier Milei's government, whose political space often questions the role of public media, according to the Argentine News Agency.

Before his brief stint at the Casa Rosada in 2023, Aracre had built an extensive career in the private sector, where he was for many years one of the top executives of the agribusiness company Syngenta for the region.

After leaving the government, he remained active in public debate with economic analyses and appearances in the media.

The new program, focused on financial education and the analysis of the current economic situation, thus marks Aracre's return to a central role in the media scene, this time from the screen of Public TV in a political context very different from the one that led him to public office a few years ago.
