Women Lead Argentina's Fastest-Growing Sectors

According to an Adecco survey, 95% of women are willing to work in traditionally male-dominated sectors like mining and construction. The main growth is seen in technology, logistics, and renewable energy, where companies are actively creating support programs for female talent.

Women Lead Argentina's Fastest-Growing Sectors

The challenge is no longer to convince organizations that female talent exists, but rather to build systems that retain it, develop it, and allow it to advance into decision-making positions. This data breaks the stereotype that female talent does not consider these sectors as a career option. «The historical problem was not the lack of interest from women, but the lack of bridges: technical training programs with female quotas, wellness policies adapted to field work dynamics, and visible role models in non-traditional roles. Because when talent finds structures that support it, the impact is not only on diversity: it's on competitiveness, innovation, and business sustainability», concluded Jesica Guanuco, Talent Acquisition Leader at Adecco Argentina. The current results are, in fact, a reflection of this dual push: corporate investment and sustained individual development», stated Jesica Guanuco, Talent Acquisition Leader at Adecco Argentina. Leading sectors: Technology, Logistics, and Renewable Energy. When asked in which sector they perceived the most openness for female talent, 57% chose the Logistics and Energy block, compared to 43% who pointed to Technology and Finance. But beyond perception, the view of Adecco's recruiters on the actual job market for 2024-2025 provides a broader picture: Technology: The demand for female profiles in software development, cybersecurity, and data analysis has grown steadily, driven in part by workforce reskilling programs and the proliferation of female-only bootcamps. Logistics and e-commerce: The e-commerce boom has generated demand for operational and management profiles where female talent has gained significant participation, especially in last-mile coordination and distribution center operations. Renewable Energy: Expanding solar and wind energy projects are incorporating women into technical and project management roles, with a notable growth curve compared to previous years. Mining and natural resources: The historically male-dominated sector is beginning to show signs of opening up in operational, technical, and environmental management roles, driven by the expansion of lithium and copper projects in the NOA and Cuyo regions. The new frontier: industries that are beginning to open up. One of the most striking findings from the survey was the response to the question about willingness to work in traditionally male-dominated industries—mining, oil, and construction: 95% said they would be open to it. «As in many industries, it is key to focus on the professional value that each person brings, overcoming traditional views that, in some contexts, have conditioned women's participation based on the type of work environment», added Jesica. For Adecco, this represents a concrete opportunity: to connect the growing demand from expanding industries with the female talent that is already available and willing to take that step. «Women are not just looking for a job: they are leading the country's fastest-growing sectors».
