Buenos Aires, March 6 (NA) – The Brazilian company DTA Engenharia could be excluded from the tender for the privatization of the Trunk Navigable Waterway for not having submitted the required offer maintenance guarantee, sources closely following the process have indicated.
According to these sources, the participating companies accessed the tender file and verified that the Brazilian dredging company did not complete the documentation corresponding to the offer guarantee, a mandatory requirement to continue in the process, reported the Argentine News Agency.
The bidding process had on February 27 the opening of envelopes for the international tender for the modernization, operation, and maintenance of the Trunk Navigable Waterway, a key infrastructure for Argentine foreign trade.
In that instance, three proposals from international dredging companies were presented: Jan De Nul NV, DEME, and DTA Engenharia, under a three-envelope evaluation scheme that contemplates technical and financial backgrounds, the work plan, and the economic offer.
The Trunk Navigable Waterway handles nearly 80% of Argentine foreign trade, and the Government is promoting a 25-year concession to the private sector for its modernization, operation, and maintenance, with estimated investments of over 10,000 million dollars.
If DTA is excluded, the competition would be limited to Jan De Nul and DEME, which could impact the deadlines and conditions of the award.
