The Association of Technical and Protection and Security Employees for Aeronavigation (ATEPSA) has formally deactivated the staggered strike actions that were affecting takeoffs nationwide, following a wage agreement with the Argentine Air Navigation Company (EANA). The agreement, ratified this past Friday, guarantees social peace in airports and clears the operational horizon for the end of the summer season, as reported by the Argentine News Agency (NA). The conflict resolution came after the end of mandatory conciliation, when the union had already planned a strike schedule that would have impacted flights between February 26 and March 2. The parties managed to find common ground on a readjustment schedule covering the first half of the year. The challenge for the upcoming quarter will be to meet the operational investment schedule demanded by the union, in a context of deregulation where efficiency is the new gold standard. Despite this, they highlighted that the conflict was sustained 'with courage and integrity,' without yielding to employer pressures. They stated verbatim: 'The path of struggle initiated by ATEPSA, demonstrated in every strike action, mobilization, and assembly, strengthens and reaffirms the union's representation in all airports in the country, being the only tool to defend our salary and maintain a high level of professionalism in Aeronavigation Services.' The lifting of the strike not only normalizes airline schedules but also allows the Argentine Air Navigation Company (EANA) to focus on reviewing the complexity-related bonuses scheduled for April.
ATEPSA and EANA Reach Wage Agreement
The ATEPSA union has called off airport strikes in Argentina following a wage deal with EANA. The agreement includes salary hikes, meal allowances, and a commitment to address worker reinstatements, ensuring operational stability during the peak summer travel season.
