Buenos Aires, February 26 (NA) – The National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) will implement a new electronic notification system for trademark registration procedures starting March 1, 2026. This measure eliminates the previous 30-day suspension periods, aiming to accelerate administrative processes. With this change, procedures that previously required the consultation of physical files will be managed digitally, as all information is available online. The organization seeks to ensure that the modernization of the registry is compatible with the principles of speed and procedural economy. The measure was officially established through Resolution 63/2026 of the National Institute of Industrial Property, published this Thursday in the Official Gazette, which was processed by the Argentine News Agency (Agencia Noticias Argentinas). The regulation establishes that views, transfers, and intermediate acts will be directly informed in the electronic headquarters of each user. In turn, publication in the Trademarks Gazette will be reserved exclusively for final resolutions and cases of lack of maintenance of oppositions. Legal deadlines for users will begin to run the day after the electronic notification or publication in the bulletin, as the case may be. To ensure the system's operation, attorneys and individuals must compulsorily update their electronic legal addresses. This procedure will be carried out through the "Intervention Request" option on the INPI portal and will have the nature of a sworn statement. Agency NA.
