Argentina and Norway Strengthen Economic Ties

Argentina's Agency for the Promotion of Investments and International Trade (PromArgentina) and the Embassy of Norway have agreed to work together to promote export opportunities and attract investment. This initiative became possible thanks to an agreement signed last September between the Mercosur bloc and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). Diego Sucalesca, Executive President of PromArgentina, noted that Argentina and Norway can serve as 'gateways' to Mercosur and EFTA, respectively. This agreement, he said, will lead to a qualitative and quantitative leap in bilateral relations. In turn, the Norwegian ambassador to the country emphasized that his nation can contribute to key sectors for Argentina, such as energy, agribusiness, and maritime industries. He added that this opens up concrete opportunities for job creation, development, and knowledge transfer. In conclusion, Sucalesca and Sætre agreed to promote the virtues of value chains in the energy, oil & gas, naval-fishing, agricultural, and knowledge economy sectors throughout 2026. They also proposed to hold a round of business meetings between companies from both countries.
