Buenos Aires, January 27 (NA) — The UTA transport union and bus company employers will meet this Friday at 11 AM to seek a wage agreement. The goal is to resolve the conflict and prevent a strike that could disrupt urban transportation. The parties had met last Tuesday without positive results, leading to a new meeting called for Friday at 11 AM at the Ministry of Labor. While direct strikes have been avoided so far, the conflict remains in a critical state of latency, sources close to the negotiations told the Argentine News Agency. The current collective bargaining process is conditioned by a series of successive failures that have eroded trust among the involved parties. Tension has been exacerbated by factors beyond strictly wage issues: the recent scandal linked to the management of state subsidies and the alleged misappropriation of funds by certain operators have soured the negotiating climate.
