Argentina's National Roads Directorate (Vialidad Nacional) has launched a public consultation on new toll tariffs for the North and West Access Roads to Buenos Aires. The goal is to provide the public with information on the proposed tariff update and the planned rehabilitation and improvement works. This proposed tariff adjustment, the first in over a year, aims to guarantee the proper provision of service, preserve the road infrastructure, and execute rehabilitation tasks to improve safety, traffic flow, and comfort for users. The plan includes comprehensive rehabilitation of roadways, improvements in horizontal and vertical signage, adaptations to drainage systems, structural maintenance, and other interventions to optimize the operation of the access roads and extend the life of the existing infrastructure. The proposal also includes adjustments related to manual and electronic payment methods. The National Roads Directorate particularly encourages the use of the TelePASE system, which offers more economical rates, speeds up payment, and avoids unnecessary stops at toll plazas. The new tariff tables provide for a differentiation that could double the toll for those using manual payment methods, within maximum established values, to promote a gradual transition to the TelePASE system. This measure is part of the modernization process of the toll system and a preliminary step to implementing more agile charging schemes, such as the free-flow system, in accordance with current regulations and the Federal Concessions Network plan. The public consultation will be held online for fifteen business days. Interested parties can access the draft regulations, proposed tariff tables, details of planned works, and a form for submitting opinions and proposals through the official website. After the process, the agency's technical team will prepare a report compiling all submissions from the public.
