Argentinian Businesswoman Closes Stores Due to Economic Crisis

Businesswoman and MasterChef Celebrity star Marixa Balli has confirmed the closure of her shoe brand Xurama's stores due to the complex economic situation the country is facing. According to Noticias Argentinas agency, the former vedette owns a shoe brand that sells wholesale at the La Salada shopping mall and in the Flores area. As a small business owner, she recounted the direct impact of the drop in consumption, which forced her to leave her main store to move to a smaller space on Avenida Rivadavia, within the Flores commercial district. "When people have a little money, they buy and enjoy it," she concluded. "I have employees, but since 2005 until now, something like this had never happened to me," she lamented. She also revealed her short-term plans: "I left a small place to have everything on sale because I am going to change industries." "I hope that at some point we will change and be able to improve, and that people can afford to buy something. Sales have already dropped in Flores, which is the most affordable place and the most important pole that Argentina has. Imagine how things are in Flores: I closed the store on Bogotá street because no one goes there. People don't walk around, they don't buy from you; the public is in a very bad mood, and there comes a moment that it wears you out," she confessed during an interview on the A la Barbarossa program. Balli detailed that the situation led her to make a major decision about her business structure: "I had to terminate all contracts." 2025 was the worst year.
